11 Moonwalkers

This stunning image of the Lunar Module, the moon’s surface and the Earth in the distance became more extraordinary as it now features the signatures of the 11 men who walked on the moon after Neil Armstrong in 1969. Altogether these dozen Americans fulfilled the promise made by President John F. Kennedy to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade. No human has been back to the moon since Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt in 1972.
