1954 Sport Magazine Cover with Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns of the post-World War II era were one of the greatest dynasties in pro football history. Named for their coach Paul Brown, the Clevelanders won all four All-America Football Conference championships then moved to the National Football League in 1950 where they appeared in the next six NFL title games, winning three. Here we have Brown and five of his star players — Dante Lavelli, Marion Motley, Lou Groza, Otto Graham and Frank Gatski — each a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
