Barons of the Ballpark

3,000 Hit Club

In order to qualify for the Batting Title, a player typically needs 500 at bats and if that batter was a .300 hitter, he’d have 150 hits each season. To join the 3,000-hit club, a player must keep up that elite level of hitting for 20 seasons! No wonder only 33 players in AL/NL history have reached 3,000 hits. Of those, 24 have signed these sheets — every player who reached the mark since World War II — with the exception of Roberto Clemente and Adrian Beltre.
