Apollo 11 Crew

“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” said astronaut Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969 as he became the first man to step foot on the moon. Those indelible words came to symbolize the event that captivated a television audience of more than 600 million people worldwide. The three-man crew of Apollo 11 — Amstrong, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin and Michael Collins — became international celebrities and were thrown a
ticker-tape parade in New York City.
