Babe Ruth

Legendary slugger Babe Ruth personally signed this incredible illustration of one of the most famous stories in American sports history — his “Called Shot” in Game 3 of the 1932 World Series. As the story goes, “The Great Bambino” was being heckled by Chicago Cubs players and their fans. Ruth then pointed to the center field stands at Wrigley Field, calling his shot. On the 2-2 pitch, Ruth clubbed the go-ahead home run in the 5th inning as his New York Yankees won the game and eventually the World Series.

To learn more about Babe’s called shot, you can read the letter by Joe Sewell, who was the Yankees Hall of Fame Infielder, and was there to see it.
