Bishop Fulton Sheen

Long before Pope Leo XIV became the first American-born pontiff, Bishop Fulton Sheen was known as “America’s Pope.” Bishop Sheen drew massive audiences to his radio and television programs spreading the Catholic faith, particularly Life is Worth Living, which earned him an Emmy award in 1952. Beyond his media fame, Bishop Sheen considered himself a servant of all and remained committed to serving the poor around
the world as well finding common ground with other religions.
