Bobby Orr

In sports there is usually debate as to who’s the best player at a particular position. There is no such debate about the greatest defenseman in hockey history, it is Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins. In only nine healthy seasons, Orr won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenseman eight times, and he became the first defenseman to score 40 goals and 100 points in a season. He won the Conn Smythe Award as MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs twice and his celebratory dive after his Cup-winning goal in 1970 was immortalized in a statue outside Boston Garden.
