Father Ted Hesburgh

Father Theodore "Ted" Hesburgh (1917–2015) was the President of the University of Notre Dame for 36 years and a leading voice in education, civil rights, and social justice. A trusted advisor to U.S. Presidents, he played a key role in the Civil Rights Movement. He is widely considered one of the most influential figures of higher education in the 20th century.
