Speedway Stars

Geoff Bodine

The NASCAR Modified Series, which features souped-up versions of stock cars, dates back to 1947. Geoff Bodine became one of the most celebrated stars on the circuit, setting a Guinness World Record in 1978 with 55 victories in a single season. In 1982 Bodine switched to the NASCAR Cup series and was named Rookie of the Year. Four years later he won the Daytona 500, one of 18 wins and 190 top-tens in 575 races at the top-level of stock car racing. After retirement, Bodine co-founded a bobsled company that helped win three medals at the 2002 Winter Olympics and a gold in 2010.
