Gerald R. Ford
Gerald R. Ford (1913–2006) was the 38th U.S. President (1974–1977), taking office after President Nixon’s resignation. A former congressman and Vice President, he sought to restore trust after Watergate. His controversial pardon of President Nixon defined his presidency. Though he lost reelection, Ford was respected for his integrity and efforts to heal the nation during turbulent times.
