Harry Vardon
Harry Vardon (1870–1937) was a professional golfer known for his consistency and technique. He won the British Open six times (a record that still stands today) and also the U.S. Open. His dedication to the sport and solid performances earned him respect in the golfing community. Vardon was also well known for the Vardon grip, or overlapping grip, the grip most popular among professional golfers today. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the inaugural class in 1974.
