Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson raced motorcycles around his California home before moving into stock cars in 1998. Johnson stepped up to NASCAR’s Cup series in 2002 and quickly became one of the circuit’s top drivers, finishing fifth in points. In 2006 Johnson started the season by winning the first of his two career Daytona 500 races on his way to claiming the Cup series championship. It was the first of five straight Cup championships for Johnson, the first in NASCAR history to do it. He was also the third to win seven career Cup titles, matching icons Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
