Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and civil rights leader who championed nonviolent resistance to end racial segregation in the United States. Born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, he rose to prominence during the Montgomery Bus Boycott. His leadership inspired the Civil Rights Movement, culminating in the 1963 March on Washington, where he delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, King was assassinated in 1968, leaving a lasting legacy.
