Pope Francis

Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, became the 266th Pope in 2013. A Jesuit, he is known for his humility, focus on social justice, and advocacy for the poor. He is the first pope from the Americas and emphasizes interfaith dialogue, environmentalism, and mercy in the Church's mission.
