Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill, born in 1874, was a British statesman, soldier, and writer who led the United Kingdom through World War II as Prime Minister. He rallied England and the entire world in its darkest hour in leading resistance against Nazi Germany. A Nobel Prize-winning author, Churchill also served in various government roles throughout his long career. Though controversial at times, his impact on global history is undeniable. He was TIME magazine’s Person of the First Half of the 20th Century. He died in 1965, remembered as a symbol of courage, resilience, and wartime determination.
